In continuation of Mr. N.L. Smith's

confidential despatch of 22nd July, 1940,

forwarding for information a statement of arms and

ammunition which had passed through this Colony in

transit to China during the first half of 1940, I have the honour to forward herewith a similar statement

for the second half of 1940.

Copies of this despatch and enclosure are

being sent to His Majesty's Ambassadors at Tokyo and Shanghai, His Majesty's Embassy, Chungking, and the Commercial Counsellor, Shanghai.
